Water fight!!!!

On May 14, 2014, we suited up, grabbed our giant water syringes, and headed outside into the heat for a little cooling off! Loading our syringes in buckets of water we chased, sprayed, laughed, screamed, and nearly froze! Though the sun was hot, the breeze was cool, and warming up in the "Dry Zone," which was the playground area, felt extremely good! We had a wonderful time as you can see!

A Day at the Beach

 

Last Thursday we went to the campus of Monterey Bay Academy for a scavenger hunt. We visited three businesses located on the campus; Calfee Bikes, Rainbow Fin, and the Equestrian Center. The students were divided into two groups and were given a list of items during the day, including items from the businesses . We were amazed at the bicycles that are made at Calfee! Some were single bikes, some were tandem bikes, and some were made of bamboo!

Mrs. Wilson's Class is Electrified!

Today we lit up our classroom! We used batteries, wire, and light bulbs to make a circuit. We discovered that when the circuit was complete our light bulb would light. Each group had to figure out on their own how to make the light bulb turn on with the things they were given. Great job, class!

Personal Timelines

In Social Studies we were learning about timelines in history. We thought about our class. What important events have happened in our lives? Each child set out to make their own timeline of events that were meaningful to them. These are the great results!

Khufoo Comes to Class!

We were delighted to have a visit from Patrick's rabbit, Khufoo this week. Khufoo is a mixed breed rabbit; a mix between a fuzzy wooly and a black otter.  The children found him to be very quiet! We didn't even know he was in our room! What a wonderful student he was! Thank you, Patrick, for sharing Khufoo with us. It was a treat to have him with us!
